The Best Snack Spots in Atlanta

Velvet Taco - Located in the heart of Buckhead, Velvet Taco offers some of the best tacos I have ever tasted. Unlike somewhat conventional tacos, Velvet Taco constructs tacos with ingredients that you would not find in Mexican restaurants. Some of the tacos they have include chicken and waffles, falafel, and shrimp and grits. My personal favorite is the falafel taco, which comes on a lettuce wrap with arugula, tomatoes, onions, pea tendrils, avocado, falafel, and tahini crema. They also have delicious sides, such as the elote corn.

Jeni’s Ice Cream - Jeni’s, also located right next to Velvet Taco in Buckhead, has some of the best ice cream in Atlanta. Their flavors are creative and change weekly. Some of my favorites include the Gooey Butter Cake, Brambleberry Crisp, and Salty Caramel. They also offer waffle cones which are homemade everyday, and absolutely worth it. And if you can’t make it to Jeni’s, you can also buy their ice cream in pints at most grocery stores.

& Cheese ATL - Found in the well-known Lenox Mall, ‘& Cheese’ makes some of the craftiest and gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches, all named after landmarks in Georgia. They have an assortment of unique options, such as the Beltline, which contains marble rye bread with smoked turkey, cranberry aioli, aged white cheddar, and Swiss cheese with a side of tomato soup. If you, like me, are not looking for an extravagant sandwich, they have a delicious standard grilled cheese as well.

Five Daughters Bakery - On the westside of Atlanta, Five Daughters Bakery offers some of the best gourmet and unique donuts. They offer their signature, the 100-layer donut, which is a donut based off of croissant dough and contains a filling as well as a homemade glaze. They also have many other flavors that are tasty and unique. I highly recommend it.

Falafel Nation - If you are looking for a quick and filling meal, Falafel Nation has it. They are located on the westside of Atlanta and offer gourmet Israeli street food. My personal favorite is the Falafel Pita, which comes with warmed hummus, schug, tahini, and sumac slaw. They also have many salads, bowls, and other pitas.

These restaurants and snack spots are just a few of the many great ones found around Atlanta!  Atlanta is home to many great spots where you can find unique food, such as Avalon, Serenbe, Buford Highway, and Town Brookhaven. Make sure to keep an eye out for any new restaurants, and be sure to check these ones out, too!
