Lil Baby The Leaks: Album Review
After heavy anticipation and many date postponements, Lil Baby finally dropped his album, “The Leaks.” It was originally set to drop on August 22, 2025, but come that day, it wasn't ready, so he postponed the drop date to September 5, 2025. September 5 came, and the album was still not out. This delay caused many fans to be unhappy and left on the edge. Finally, on December 3, 2025, on his birthday, Lil Baby dropped his album, and after hearing the beat drop on the first song, many fans couldn’t wait to hear the rest.
The Leaks is an album that consists of songs that have previously circulated all over the internet as snippets and unfinished tracks. Since small portions of these songs had already been leaked, Lil Baby decided to make a formal album with the full songs. Many fans recognized the beat or lyrics from certain songs like, Guaranteed, Real S**t, Let’s Do It, and Try to Love. While songs with only Lil Baby were still really enjoyable, there were many features that brought a lot of these songs together. Featured artists included Playboi Carti, Skooly, Lil Yachty, LUCKI, Veeze, Young Thug, Rylo Rodriguez, Bino Rideaux, and G Herbo. These features brought life and personality to songs like Get Along and All on Me. The most popular song on the album is Let’s Do It featuring Playboi Cart and Skooly, earning 74.2k page views on Genius.
Personally, I expected the majority of the album to either be upbeat or more of a trap vibe, but there is a good mix. For example, the first song, Mrs. Trendsetter was a more upbeat song compared to Try to Love as a slower and more emotional song. I think the different vibes make this album appealing for everyone due to the variety of different tempos and flows.
My favorite song on this album is Get Along featuring Lil Yatchy, LUCKI, and Veeze. At first, when I started listening, I didn’t see how Lil Baby could fit in on the track because I’ve never heard him rap on a beat like it. Even though I didn’t think the beat was for him, I still think his verse was the best on this song. I give this song a 9 out of 10 just because I like the flow, the features, and the verses on the song. Overall, I think this song shows how versatile of a rapper he is.
The Leaks is a great album in my opinion, just for the fact that it is versatile and easy to vibe to. Out of the 15 songs, there’s only one miss. The one miss is called “Nasty Girl.” It’s a very interesting song because of the inappropriate/nasty lyrics, which don’t complement the beat and flow of the song very well. Aside from this one song, Lil Baby worked really hard to satisfy his fans and even gain new ones, and I think most were very pleased with it. Overall, this album demonstrates why Lil Baby is one of the best trap artists, showing his ability to rap on different beats and give everyone an assortment of vibes to choose from.
