Trump's Indictment: Controversy and Crimes

On Thursday, March 30, former President Donald J. Trump was indicted by a grand jury in an investigation correlating to Stormy Daniels and supposed “hush-money.” Daniels is an adult film actress who Trump was supposedly involved with, and the investigation is surrounding Michael Cohen, Trump’s lawyer, paying her 130,000 to stay silent about an affair with Trump. The grand jury officially determined that there were sufficient charges for the Manhattan office to arrest Trump after hearing a witness’s testimony after several days of proceedings, and he is allegedly soon being arrested in the upcoming weeks. He is suspected to be arraigned in the beginning of next week, Tuesday. Although there has not been much word from Trump regarding the trials, his lawyer reportedly said that they do not expect to accept a plea deal.

These are not the only problems that Trump will be facing. In the 2020 election, he claimed that Georgia’s election results and ballots were false. Now, Georgia, specifically Fulton County, is looking into whether he interfered into the local elections, and Washington DC is looking into the insurrection at the Capitol. Regardless of what the exact charges are, Trump will officially be having to go to court, and the public can only wait to see whether he faces any consequences.
