Galloway Teams Update: Week 11/14-11/20
With week Three commencing, 11/14-11/20, Galloway teams have really gotten into the flow of things
The Varsity Boys Basketball Team played two games this past week. The first game was played at Westminster on 11/18. The boys played a great game in an unfamiliar environment. Once again, Amir Arrington (‘23) performed at a high level with 25 points and 5 rebounds. Aden Aponte (‘26) also matched Arringtons’ performance with 18 points while shooting 80% from three. The Scots unfortunately lost 64-67. The following day, they played a home game vs North Springs, 11/18. Aden Aponte led the charge with yet another impressive shooting game in which he scored 17 points. Fielden Winn (‘24) was a pivotal piece to the team with 7 assists. The boys couldn’t pull out a win though, losing 52-56. The boys are now 1-2 on the year
The Varsity Girls Basketball Team started the week with an exciting matchup at Norcross on Tuesday 11/15. The girls unfortunately suffered their first loss of the season. Looking to bounce back, the Scots played against Westminster on 11/18. The girls dominated with an overwhelming 71-45 win. Tianna Thompson (‘24) led the charge with 20 pts, 4 rbs and 4 steals. Kyla Cain (‘23) managed to finish with 16 points with Allison Hoffmann (‘23) and Kailyn Fields (‘23) both breaking double digits in points as well. Overall, the Scots finished the week 1-1 with a 2-1 total record as they look to keep up the great season.
