Bulldogs Take Home the National Championship For the Second Year

With the 2023 National Championship, the Georgia Bulldogs have been crowned champions once again. They are the first team to win back to back national championships since 2011-12 Alabama. The Bulldogs capped off their undefeated run with an electric win against the TCU Horned Frogs, defeating them 65-7. The Bulldogs finished the season with a 15-0 record. They also broke several records throughout the season, including the record for most points in a single NCAA title game in the BCS and CFP era.

Led by 25 year old quarterback, Stetson Bennett, the Bulldogs put up a total of 615 yards from scrimmage. Bennet accounted for six of the Dawgs’ touchdowns, with four coming through the air, and two coming from him running on the ground.

With the NCAA Championship coming to a close, the Bulldogs seem to have some uncertainties with the upcoming season. Their star DT, Jalen Carter, has officially declared for the 2023 NFL Draft, leaving a large gap in the Bulldogs defensive frontline. Kelee Ringo, a star cornerback for the Bulldogs, has also declared for the draft. With these two star-studded defenders leaving the college scene, Nolan Smith, outside linebacker, also declared for the Draft in order to continue his career on the next level.

With the losses on the defensive side, the offense also looks to be losing key pieces to the success of the team. Star quarterback, Stetson Bennett, has declared for the NFL draft, leaving the team with the question of who can fill his role since offensive tackle, Broderick Jones, has also officially declared for the NFL draft.
