Galloway Teams Update: Week 11/28-12/4

After Thanksgiving break, 11/28-12/4, Galloway sports picked right back up with performances from all teams.


The Varsity Boys Basketball Team started their home stretch this week with a match against Riverwood on 11/29. With their first game back since break, the boys looked to start hot against Riverwood. Led by Amir Arrington’s (‘23) 20 points, 6 rebounds and Aden Aponte’s (‘26) 16 points, the boys played a great match but came up short, losing 54-66. They did, however, hold a SEC commit to 3-15 from the field. For their second game, the boys played against Mt. Bethel at home on 12/2. They unfortunately lost 43-71 with a valiant team effort. Looking to bounce back, the boys finished their week with a home game vs Brandon Hall. The boys won 59-24 with great performances from Grant Patrick (‘24) with 12 pts, 7 rbs, and 4 asts, and Aden Aponte with 20 points.


The Varsity Girls Basketball Team looked to keep up their hot streak as the break ended. On 11/29, the girls played West Forsyth at home and won 76-62. This game was led by solid all around performances from Tianna Thompson (‘24) with 19 points, Kyla Cain (‘23) with 18 points and 6 steals, and Allison Hoffmann (‘23) with 11 points. They proceeded to play Mt. Bethel at home on 12/2. The girls won a stunning 96-30 with amazing levels of play by Tianna with 19 points, Jasmine Baxter (‘25) with 18 points and 7 rebounds, Kyla with 12 points and 10 steals, Kailyn Fields (‘23) with 12 points, 6 assists, and 7 steals, Allison with 12 points, and Taryn Thompson (‘26) with 10 points and 3 steals. The girls are now 6-1 on the season.


The Galloway Swim Team had an amazing meet this past weekend. The Aqua Scots placed first overall by a large margin. In the boys 200 yard free, the top four places were all taken by Galloway swimmers. In the girls 200 yard IM was overtaken by the Galloway girls, the top three places went to the Scots. Dylan Reiser (‘25) placed first in two events.
