Galloway Sports Update: Week 10/31-11/6

Starting the Winter Season, the Galloway Swim Team had their first official meet. They unfortunately lost the opening meet of the season.

To wrap up the 22’ Fall Season, 10/31-11/6, the Cross Country team competed in the State Meet! The team had an amazing showing and finished tenth out of thirty-two teams that competed. This was an amazing feat performed by the team! Congratulations on your team success and individual accomplishments!

Volleyball State Title Run!

The Varsity Volleyball team started their post season on October 4th with an unfortunate loss, 1-2, against Trinity Christain. They closed out the night by defeating Northgate 2-1 in a dramatic 15-11 score in the third set. On October 11th, the Scots swept Whitefield 3-0 in a well fought match. The following day, October 12th, Mt Bethel Academy proved to be a strong opponent as Galloway suffered a 1-3 loss. On October 13th, the Varsity squad defeated our rival in a thrilling away match. The final score was 3-1 as Scots Nation approached the state tournament.

To start the state tournament, the Scots beat Aquinas 3-0 in a great played match. Though on a hot streak, Galloway unfortunately fell short against Tallulah Falls in a sad 1-3 loss. I’d love to give a big congratulations to Varsity Volleyball on their impressive and impactful season.

School Record Mock Trial Team.

The mock trial team ended their fall season at 8th place in the international Empire Eclipse competition. Audrey Smith (‘23) was recognized as Top Witness Overall, Margaret Edmonds (‘23) was recognized as Outstanding Attorney, and Diya Gundlapalli (‘23), another student attorney, received Honorable Mention.
