Top 5 travel Destinations According to Galloway Students
I can’t wait to travel again. With COVID-19, and obviously, school, traveling has been somewhat out of the question for a while now. But wouldn’t it be amazing to hop on a plane and go to the destination of your dreams? Just imagine packing your suitcase for the trip of your life and the excitement of running through the airport to catch your flight. Or that delicious first breath of tropical or freezing cold air. Traveling is all about adventure and new experiences, and personally, I cannot wait to feel that again. According to a random assortment of Galloway seniors, here are the top five best travel destinations in the world.
New Zealand:
New Zealand is an island in the southwestern Pacific Ocean. It has both a North and a South Island, as pictured above. The South Island (left) is known for its wildlife, hiking, wineries, glaciers, and beautiful mountainous topography. It's the colder counterpart to the tropical North Island (right). The northernmost island of the pair is known for its largest city, Auckland, and its north bay islands, as well as for its tropical rainforests and beautiful farmlands.
Turks and Caicos:
Turks and Caicos is made up of an archipelago of 40 chain islands in the Atlantic Ocean. The gateway island, Provo, features a 14-mile barrier reef on the northern shore, meaning this destination is sought out for its scuba diving opportunities, as well as its beautiful water and island life.
British Virgin Islands:
The BVI is my favorite place in the world. The islands are part of a volcanic archipelago, with four main islands and over 50 smaller islands and cays. It is best known as a yachting destination and for its reef-lined beaches. Tortola, the main island, is home to the capital city, Road Town, and Sage Mountain National Park. The most popular islands include Tortola, Peter Island, Cooper Island, and The Baths.
Greece:
Greece is a country in southeastern Europe, with islands scattered throughout the Aegean and Ionian seas. Thousands of islands make up this popular travel destination which is known as the cradle of western civilization. It is known for its landmarks such as the Acropolis and the Parthenon, and its most famous islands include Santorini and Mykonos.
Costa Rica:
Costa Rica is probably one of the most well-known tourist destinations. It is a rainforested country in Central America known for its volcanoes, beaches, and the biodiversity of its rainforests. Its untouched nature and relaxing beaches draw in travelers, as does its beautiful tropical weather and unspeakable beauty.
