Top 5 Places to Visit When You Stop by Peachtree Corners
As someone who has grown up in Peachtree Corners, many people typically label it as the middle of nowhere. However, there are really a lot of fun things to do to pass the time. Some of my favorites are visiting the pool and tennis clubs, visiting Jones Bridge Park, breaking out of an escape room, shopping around at the Forum, and my personal favorite, grabbing a bite to eat at the Town Center.
5. Pool and Tennis
On the corner of every street, there is either a pool and tennis club or a country club. These are very popular in the summer because after a long day in the sun, it is nice to relax and cool down by the pool. Not only during the summer are these a popular place to get exercise, but during the winter, many members like to get in a quick tennis match to work off any stress from earlier in the day. I love to play tennis and layout by the pool with my friends during a hot summer day. Some of my favorite locations are Peachtree Station Swim and Tennis Club and the Dunwoody Country Club.
4. Jones Bridge Park
The 30 acre Jones Bridge Park makes a great place to relax after a long day. You can sit and fish from the rocks bordering the Chattahoochee which runs right along the park or under one of the many Pavilions. This park is a local favorite for the kids living in the Peachtree Corners area because of the huge playground packed with slides, swings, monkey bars and more. Even if you have outgrown the playground, you can still have a great time on the volleyball courts, one of three soccer fields, or walking around the meadow. If you are at the park late, a great way to finish off the night is to grill some hamburgers and bond with your family. This is personally one of my favorite things to do with my family and friends over the summer.
3. Escape Rooms
If you find yourself in Peachtree Corners on a rainy day, Breakout Games, is a great place to go. They have eight tricky rooms to escape in under an hour. These include runaway Train, Mystery Mansion, Do Not Disturb, Island Escape, Museum Heist, Operation Casino, Hostage, and my personal favorite The Kidnapping. Unlike other escape rooms, you start the kidnapping by being handcuffed and blindfolded while trying to get out before your kidnapper gets back. They also have another room underway where you must escape a sinking submarine before it sinks. When you book your room it becomes private, so you do not have to worry about trying to crack the codes with strangers. The only downside to Breakout games is that it is a little bit pricey. As more people join your team the price goes down. If 2 people were to play it is $35.99, but if 8 people play it is $21.99. Also, make sure to book your room in advance because they fill up fast.
2. Forum
The Forum is a great place to walk around and shop on a beautiful day. There are a variety of shops and something for everyone. You can find yourself wandering into places such as Trader Joe’s, Dress Up, Fab'rik, Barnes and Noble, Home Goods, James Avery, Swoozies, Ulta, and Williams Sonoma. If you get hungry while shopping around you can grab a bite to eat at a variety of places such as California Pizza Kitchen, La Parilla, Mojitos, Ted’s, Press Blend Squeeze, or Sweet Tuna. All of this revolves around the huge fountain in the center. During the holidays this fountain is turned into a stunning Christmas tree that is very well known. If you happen to find yourself in the Forum during this magical time of year, take a break from the hustle of holiday shopping and grab some milk and cookies with Santa and Mrs. Clause.
1. Town Center
The Town Center is the newest addition to Peachtree Corners. It was built up from nothing and now is a beautiful area with restaurants, a huge lawn area, a playground, and shaded pavilions. There is a variety of restaurants from Taqueria Tsunami to Farm Burger and Pokeworks. Afterward, you can get dessert at Beard Papas or Kremo. You can also catch a movie at Cine Bistro. The large lawn area in the back has many free shows such as local music artists and the screening of sports events. While you are laying in the turf, the kids can go down the slide and play all of the spider-web jungle gym. If it gets too hot you can take a break and relax under one of many of the Shaded Pavilions.
